(1) gases produced by melt decomposition
Some raw materials will generate volatile gases after heating, which are corrosive and will corrode the mold. Therefore, when the equipment stops working, the mold should be wiped clean with soft cloth, and the mold should be closed. If it is not used for a long time, the mold cavity should be sprayed with antirust agent, and butter should be applied when closing the mold, and the gate should be blocked.
(2) Cooling water in the mold
Cooling water is often used in the mold for cooling, so there is more water around the molding equipment. If the mold is cooled below the dew point, the moisture in the air will form water droplets on the surface of the mold, which will easily rust if it is not rubbed in time. Especially after the die stops working, condensed water will be produced quickly. Therefore, when stopping molding, turn off the cooling water and dry the mold.
(3) Carbide produced during molding
After the mold works for a long time, carbides are precipitated and decomposed in the molding material, which often makes the mold wear, corrode or rust. In this regard, if carbide formation is found, it should be removed immediately.
