As the most important production tool in injection molding factory, it determines the shape, specification, size and appearance smoothness of products. The metal mold is made of steel, which is generally composed of front mold/back mold.
Because the mold has the characteristics of specificity, precision and vulnerability, it is very important to carry out the safety protection of the mold, which can be summarized as follows:
Rust prevention: to prevent rusting caused by water leakage/condensation/rain/fingerprints in the mold of injection molding machine.
Anti-collision: prevent the moldfrom being damaged because the ejector pin is broken and not retracted in place.
Deburring: To prevent mold burrs caused by cloth wiping/material flushing/hand wiping/nozzle clamp collision/knife collision.
Missing parts: prevent the mold from being damaged during use due to the lack of tie rods/washers and other parts.
Anti-pressure: to prevent the mold from being crushed due to mold locking due to residual products.
Under-voltage: to prevent the mold from being damaged by excessive low-voltage protection pressure.
Among them, the ratio of mold damage caused by ejector pin fracture, ejector pin not retreating in place, mold residual products and lack of auxiliary parts is high, and more than 85% of mold damage is caused by this reason, and the maintenance cost of mold is generally high, so how to avoid this kind of situation is directly related to the interests of injection molding industry.
Precautions for mold maintenance:
When disassembling the mold, avoid bumping and drenching, and move smoothly.
Spray hot die, and then spray a small amount of release agent
The mold should be thoroughly inspected and antirust treated: carefully wipe away the moisture and sundries in the cavity, core, ejector mechanism and row position, and spray the mold antirust agent and spread butter.
During the continuous working process, it is easy to cause the wear of parts, deterioration of lubricants, water leakage, crushing of plastic materials and other problems, so it is necessary to maintain the mold.
Routine maintenance of molds generally includes the following aspects:
Regular derusting (appearance, PL surface, mold cavity, core, etc.)
Re-add lubricant regularly (ejector mechanism, line position, etc.)
Replace easily worn parts (tie rods, bolts, etc.) regularly
The maintenance of the lower mold of the mold needs professional maintenance personnel to remove the mold, and then carry out professional test protection on the cavity and ejector pin of the mold
