Silicone Rubber Overmolding

The liquid silicone rubber overmolding injection molding process consists of two steps in which the complete plastic or metal body is placed into the mold position of the LSR mold, and the LSR is then overmolded directly onto the part.

One of the advantages of overmolding parts and assemblies with liquid silicone is that the manufacturing process allows the use of non-plastic substrates, such as steel.
